How to Help

We think it is important to keep Jock's story alive in peoples' minds, otherwise there is a risk that he will be lost and without a voice in the Bulgarian penal system. Read the material on the website and encourage your friends to do do the same so that as many people as possible will hear of Jock's plight.

The Australian government has been very supportive of Jock and his family during and after the court process and we want this same level of interest and support to continue. If you are concerned by Jock's plight and the fact that he has not received a fair trial in Bulgaria, it would help if you could write to:

The Australian government has sent a request that Jock be transferred to Australia to serve his sentence to the Bulgarian government. It is imperative that the authorities in both countries are aware of the public concern for Jock and our desire (on humanitarian grounds) for Jock to serve his sentence closer to his family and friends.

• In any country - the Bulgarian embassy in your country.

Jock very much appreciates receiving mail and visits. As you can imagine, it is important for his morale to see a friendly face during visiting hours, so consider a visit to Bulgaria to see Jock if you are overseas. Jock also enjoys reading letters - as long or short as you like, with plenty of details about what you are doing.
